Help prevent call-backs with a quick 4 step test
A finished gate can look perfect and still create a callback a few weeks later.
A gate may close correctly from one position but fail to latch when opened further. It may close too quickly, begin rubbing after the gate settles, or appear functional while placing unnecessary strain on the latch and frame.
That is why a short, repeatable test is worth making part of every installation and service visit.
Step 1. Open the gate just a few inches and release it. Repeat the test from halfway and from the full opening position. The closing movement should be smooth and consistent, and the gate should engage the latch reliably each time. It all seems to obvious right?
Step 2. Listen as well as you look. A sharp slam, scrape, rattle, or hesitation can point to excessive closing speed,
alignment issues, contact with the frame, or hardware under unnecessary load.
Step 3. Confirm that the latch engages positively and that the gate does not need to be pushed, pulled, or lifted to secure
itself.
Step 4. Finally, look at what has changed around the gate. New paving, landscaping, furniture, mats, or a shifted post can affect gate movement. A reliable installation needs to work in the environment where the customer will use it—not only in the moment the tools are packed away.

To upgrade or replace?
